Howard Conlee, Mission April 6, 1943
The second raid was to Messina on the 6th. We went over the target at 6:00.P.M. and the raid vas highly successful. The target was the ferry ship. After we had passed over I looked down and all I could see in the target area was a mass of black smoke. The anti aircraft fire was heavy and one boy was killed.
Mission #18 Time 7:45 I saw six ME109's in the air after we had passed over the target but only three attacked us. We were in a good tight formation and they gave up the chase. My total combat time up to now is 161:15.

At the 2017 reunion, the board approved the donation of our archives to the Briscoe Center for American History, located on the University of Texas - Austin campus.
Also, the board approved a $5,000 donation to add to Ed Clendenin's $20,000 donation in the memory of his father. Together, these funds begin an endowment for the preservation of the 376 archives.
