Howard Conlee, Mission Dec. 24, 1942

Mission #11 Time 11:10 We took off for the advanced base up by Tobruk at 6:50 on the 23rd. Landed at the advanced base and had dinner out on the ground. We refueled, replaced the landing lights and took off for a moonlight raid on Naples at 19:00. We ran into a bad storm just as we sighted the coast of Italy and were forced to turn back because of ice. We landed back at the advanced base at 03:00 on the 24th. I slept out under the wing until 07:00. We had to replace the right outboard brake expander tube before returning home. I had the honor of flying most of the way home acting as pilot. Received a letter from home when I got back and after reading it I hit the hay.

376 ARCHIVES

The website 376bg.org is NOT our site nor is it our endowment fund.

At the 2017 reunion, the board approved the donation of our archives to the Briscoe Center for American History, located on the University of Texas - Austin campus.

Also, the board approved a $5,000 donation to add to Ed Clendenin's $20,000 donation in the memory of his father. Together, these funds begin an endowment for the preservation of the 376 archives.
