James Collison mission June 24, 1943

JUNE

Thursday 24

Sedes

We made history today, our group made a raid in Greece-the first of the war. The bombs from our plane were the first to strike the field out of the group and they did their job well. There was no fighters and no ack-ack. I'd like to get in a lot more missions like it. There was a letter from Penny today-it was dated June 6-43. Going to bed early. I am very tired from the trip today-we were on oxygen a very long time. ......

The mission today was the first American raid of the war on Greece. The field we raided was a training field for bombers. Hangers were destroyed and planes destroyed-big success I think.

376 ARCHIVES

The website 376bg.org is NOT our site nor is it our endowment fund.

At the 2017 reunion, the board approved the donation of our archives to the Briscoe Center for American History, located on the University of Texas - Austin campus.

Also, the board approved a $5,000 donation to add to Ed Clendenin's $20,000 donation in the memory of his father. Together, these funds begin an endowment for the preservation of the 376 archives.
