JUNE

Friday 4

Grottaglio

This was a very exciting day and I mean it in all due seriousness. We went on a raid to Grottaglio, Italy-hit the air field. The run and all was very quiet but just after we left the Italian coast we were hit by fighters. Ten ME 109 and believe me they were really eager-four made head on attacks and they really came in. Our ship was hit twice with incendery bullets. I think Whitesides made a direct hit on one. I was certainly glad to get back to good old terra firma. We (Bob and I) went for a swim and then to the movie "White Cargo" with Hedy Lemarr. It was nothing special but I liked it. ......

376 ARCHIVES

The website 376bg.org is NOT our site nor is it our endowment fund.

At the 2017 reunion, the board approved the donation of our archives to the Briscoe Center for American History, located on the University of Texas - Austin campus.

Also, the board approved a $5,000 donation to add to Ed Clendenin's $20,000 donation in the memory of his father. Together, these funds begin an endowment for the preservation of the 376 archives.
